Michael Tessler

President and Chief Executive Officer

Michael Tessler brings over 20 years of business strategy and technology experience to his role as co-founder. As CEO and president of BroadSoft, Michael is focused on bringing advanced carrier-grade communications systems to service providers worldwide.

At Alcatel USA, as Vice President of Engineering in the Celcore organization, Michael was responsible for all product development activities for several product lines. A member of the senior staff, Michael participated in business strategy, helped manage the day-to-day, business activities, and led the business development activities in China.

Prior to Alcatel, Michael held numerous senior management roles at Nortel and founded and led a services development business unit that helped local exchange carriers build and deploy advanced services on their digital networks. Michael has two patents in the area of local switching, AIN, and advanced call management services and was a recent winner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

Scott Hoffpauir

Chief Technology Officer

As Chief Technology Officer, Scott Hoffpauir is responsible for guiding the technical vision and direction for BroadSoft as well as promoting continuous product innovation. Driving the company’s strong reputation of leadership and innovation, Scott manages BroadSoft’s engineering, operations and product management functions.

Scott began serving as a co-founder and Vice President, Engineering of BroadSoft in 1998. Prior to BroadSoft, Scott was Director of GSM Development at Celcore (DSC/Alcatel USA). In this role, he was responsible for all product development on the GSM switching product. Before Celcore, Scott was senior architect for Nortel’s GSM and Inter-Exchange Carrier switching systems. Scott holds multiple patents in the GSM, SIP, call processing and switching areas.

Leslie Ferry

Vice President, Marketing

Leslie Ferry brings over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications, Internet and recruitment industries to her role as BroadSoft’s vice president of marketing. Her brand management and product marketing expertise have helped boost the profiles of numerous technology companies.

Before coming to BroadSoft, Leslie was vice president of marketing at online recruiting companies SnagAJob and JobFox. As director/vice president of marketing at domain name registration company, Network Solutions, she helped revamp the company’s brand and position it as a respected leader of web services.

Leslie helped to build one of the best-known Internet brands as director of marketing for online jobs site CareerBuilder.com. Before moving to companies with web-based products, she spent eight years at MCI, where she held revenue and branding responsibilities.

Alex Doyle

Senior Director of Solutions

As a founding member of the BroadSoft team, Alex Doyle has been intricately involved in the development of the BroadWorks application platform. He’s responsible for product and solution management of BroadSoft’s Hosted Unified Communications business and consumer applications. Prior to BroadSoft, Doyle was a wireless solutions architect at Nortel and Celcore. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

Curtis Hartmann

Director of Product Management

As a Director, Product Management, Curtis Hartmann has end-to-end responsibility for BroadSoft’s SIP Trunking solution. He has over 15 years experience in telecommunications software, having held leadership positions in software development, product management and business development at ADC NewNet and Interswitch. Prior to BroadSoft, Hartmann was at Cisco Systems, where he was responsible for Cisco’s cable telephony softswitch. He holds a BA in Chemistry from Connecticut College and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Union College.

Shirish Andhare

Vice President of Emerging Markets

Shirish is passionate about conceiving and launching innovative applications at cusp of Web and Voice, and enabling new business models that will deliver innovations faster to the end-user. Prior to BroadSoft, Shirish was the VP of Corporate and Product Marketing for Sylantro Systems, where he helped establish the company’s leadership in the area of Web 2.0 applications, Telecom Web Services and Hosted Unified Communications. Previously, he was Group Product Manager at Tellme Networks Inc. (acquired by Microsoft) where he contributed to Tellme’s dominant position in selling hosted speech applications to Fortune 500 enterprises, generating revenues $100M per year. He has also held senior software engineering positions at communications pioneers such as VMX Inc., Octel Communications Inc., and Vertical Networks Inc. Shirish holds a B.E in Computer Sciences from VNIT, India, an M.S. in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas, and an M.S. in Management Sciences from Stanford University.
